Privacy policy

This policy covers this website, run by OAK at 15 SE 1st Ave, Gainesville, FL 32601. It explains what the site collects, why, who else handles it, and the choices you have.

The short version

We don't sell or rent your personal information. You don't need an account to use this site, and nothing you type on it is sent to us by the site itself. Meta's advertising pixel is on by default unless your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal; a notice on your first visit tells you, and you can turn it off.

Who we are

OAK is owned and operated by Three Points Hospitality. The systems and service providers we use are listed below.

Information you give us

Private event inquiries. The form on our Private Events page doesn't send anything by itself: it opens your own email app with a message to contact@oakgainesville.com, filled in with what you typed (your name, email, phone, preferred date, guest count, space and notes). Nothing reaches us unless you press send. We use it to reply to you and plan your event.

Emails and calls. If you email contact@oakgainesville.com or call 352-558-6696, we receive whatever you choose to share and use it to answer you.

Information collected automatically

Server logs. The servers that deliver these pages record technical details of each request, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. Our hosting provider keeps them for security and reliability.

Your measurement choice. The site remembers on your device whether you turned measurement off and whether you have seen the cookie notice, so it doesn't ask again. That stays in your browser; we never receive it.

Meta’s cookie. While the pixel is on, Meta stores a cookie (_fbp) in your browser so it can recognise repeat visits. If JavaScript is turned off, the pixel reports the page visit through a tiny image instead.

Advertising on Facebook and Instagram

We promote OAK on Facebook and Instagram. To see whether those ads work, this site uses the Meta pixel, a small piece of code from Meta Platforms, Inc. It tells Meta which pages you visit here and whether you clicked through to book a table on Resy. Meta may connect that to your Facebook or Instagram account and use it to show you ads, under Meta's Privacy Policy. We don't pass Meta your name, your email or anything you type into our form.

You can turn the pixel off on our Cookies page. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as your answer and the pixel never loads. In your Facebook or Instagram settings you can also manage your activity off Meta technologies and your ad preferences.

Services run by other companies

Reservations are taken by Resy, under Resy's own privacy policy. We receive the booking details you give Resy so we can seat you.

Directions open in Google Maps, and our Instagram link opens Instagram, which is run by Meta. Job applications go through our careers site, and trivia sign-ups from our link page go through a form run by Zite.

Hosting, photos and type. The site is served by Google Firebase Hosting, photos and page content come from Sanity’s content network, and the typefaces load from Google Fonts. Each receives standard request information, such as your IP address, when a page loads.

How long we keep it

We keep emails about events for as long as we need them to handle your event and for our normal business records, then delete them. Server logs are kept by our hosting provider on its own schedule.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing contact@oakgainesville.com or calling 352-558-6696. You can turn off the Meta pixel at any time on our Cookies page.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date below.
